JESUS, MOHAMMAD & MIRACLES
In his attempt to prove that Jesus was greater than Mohammad, the Christian notes that Jesus performed numerous miracles such as raising the dead and having command over nature, as noted in the Gospels, to prove his Divinity. Whereas Mohammad per-formed no miracle.
Significantly, Jesus performed miracles through THE POWER OF GOD–(Luke 11:20; John 8:28, 11:42; Acts 2:22; Qur’an 3:48). Thus, Jesus having performed miracles through the POWER OF GOD Jesus could not be Divine/GOD.
If performing miracles makes one “Divine” then:
-The pool at Bethesda having the power to cure must be “Divine”–(John 5:2-4);
-Moses transforming a stick into a serpent and parting the river (not to mention the other six or so miracles he performed against Pharaoh) must make him “Divine”–(Exodus 7:10; 14:21).
-Elijah resurrecting a child; and dividing the river Jordan must make him “Divine”–(1 Kings 17:17-23; 2 Kings 2:7-8)
-Elisha parting the river Jordan and resurrecting a child must make him “Divine”–(2 Kings 2:12-14; 2 Kings 4:32-36
-Joshua making the sun and the moon to stand still must make him “Divine”–(Joshua 10:12-13)
-The river Jordan healing Namaan must be “Divine”–(2 Kings 5:9-14)
-Elisha’s dead bones bringing a dead man back to life must make these “dead bones” “Divine”–(2 Kings 13:20-21)
-The statue of a brass serpent having the power to preserve life must be “Divine”–(Num. 21:8-9)
-Balaam’s ass speaking to Balaam must make this “ass” “Divine”–(Num. 22:28, 30)
-False Christs and false prophets performing miracles must make them “Divine”–(Matt. 24:24).
Considering that even false Christs and false prophets can also perform miracles as Jesus declared, “reason” would dictate that the performing of miracles is no proof of “Divinity” or “Divine calling,” In fact, even with all his stupendous miracles the Jews yet tried to kill Jesus and to this day do not believe in him.
That Jesus had command over nature.
Jesus had such command over nature that he did not even know that fig was not in season; and instead of producing figs he cursed the innocent and blameless fig tree to death–(Mark 11:12-21).
Can anyone prove that these dead and sick etc; that Jesus raised were the literal dead and not metaphorical “dead” –the moral and spiritual sick and dead? There is no evidence to this! In fact, not only is there no evidence they are only “hearsay” by four men –“according to” Matthew, Mark, Luke and John not “according to” God and Jesus, and is the “King James Version” not God’s or Jesus’ “Version”– who were NOT eyewitnesses to the events of which they wrote (See BIBLE).
In a court of law the Judge would not hesitate to throw such documents and submitter out the court.
It is rather intriguing that Jesus raised the literal dead consi-dering that “it is appointed unto men ONCE TO DIE, but after this the judgment;” which would mean that the dead Christ raised would have died twice (and was even resurrected without receiving “judgment”) contradicting the Bible. (Heb. 9:27).
In any event, given that Jewish Scriptural history is colored with miracles, “Reason” would dictate that if these “dead” were the literal dead that the Jews would have wanted to kill Jesus; instead they would have made all and every effort to protect him and have him re-liven and heal their beloved dead and sick family members, ad infinitum. (Well, part ad infinitum).
The only miracle Mohammad ever claimed to have brought is the Qur’an, which is a standing miracle for all time –his prophecies which have manifested even during his lifetime and his statements on science which have been verified, and the Qur’an’s inimitability [Qur’an 2:23; 10:38; 11:13; 17:88; 52:33] are evidences for all time. (See QUR’AN-PROPHECIES; QUR’AN-SCIENCE).
