\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0MOHAMMAD & RAYHANA<\/span><\/span><\/span>
\nWith the mountains of material crowding the Internet<\/i> the only thing certain about Rayhana is that not much is known about her. She is said to be a member of the Bani Nadir tribe who married into the Bani Quraizah tribe.
\nLike<\/span> Juwairiyyah<\/a><\/span><\/span> and<\/span> Safiyyah<\/span><\/a>, Rayhana was a captive of war who fell into the hands of Prophet Mohammad.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Ali Sina<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>wrote: \u201cRayhana never married Muhammad and unlike Juwairiyah and Safiyah never feigned being a Muslim to have an easier life. She preferred to remain a sex slave rather the wife of the murderer of her father, brothers and uncles.\u201d<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0 Response:<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

(How do you know Juwairiyyah and Safiyyah \u201cfeigned being a Muslim\u201d? And what proof do you have that because Rayhana rejected Islam and marriage she was ill-treated.\u00a0<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0 So what that Mohammad \u201cbed\u201d Rayhana? This is what the Biblical Fathers and followers did:\u00a0<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0 -Abraham not only bed his father\u2019s daughter, Sarah, which is a \u201cwicked thing,\u201d he hobbled Sarah\u2019s handmaid, Hagar, and pregnant her\u2013(Gen. 20:11-12; Lev. 20:17; Gen. 16:1-4);<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0 -Jacob joyed with Bilhah and Zilpah, handmaids of his wives Rachel and Leah, and built tribes from their children\u2013(Gen. 30:1-13);<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0 -Judah, the grandfather of the Christian\u2019s son of God (and even of God as Christian\u2019s say Jesus is God), played hide-and-seek with his daughter-in-law, Tamar, and made her fruit\u2013(Gen. 38:11-18);<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0 -David, in whom Jesus is \u201crooted,\u201d not only dallied with Uriah\u2019s wife, Bathsheba, and sent the poor man to the battle-front to be killed, he had a young \u201cvirgin\u201d keep him warm (though a matron could have given him just as enough or more heat; and Christians sing his praise to the extent of their lungs in melodious tones, and crab at Mohammad)\u2013(Revelation 22:16; 2 Samuel 11:2-5; 1 Kings 1:1-4; David also had \u201chis master\u2019s wives\u201d\u2013(2 Sam. 12:8);<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0 -Lot built two nations with his two daughters\u2013(Genesis 19:30-38);<\/span>
\n\u00a0 -Solomon and his son, Rehoboam, had over 350 \u201cconcubines\u201d between the two of them (count them again and wail and gnash your teeth)\u2013(1 Kings 11:3.2 Chronicles 11:21. W<\/span><\/span>hereas Christians and critics crab at Mohammad; when it comes to speaking and writing about the thousand wives and concubines of the prophet they believe in; and their sex-ploits Christians and critics become dumb and illiterate).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

What makes you think that because Rayhana rejected Islam and marriage she was not charmed to be in Mohammad\u2019s embrace? There must be legions of women who relish being bedmates but shun marriage. In fact, Rayhana must have found it thrilling to play the outfielder. Moreover, whereas Mohammad\u2019s life is an open book, Rayhana may very well have been playing the martyr \u2013trying to impress her people that she was opposed to Islam and Mohammad all the while privately joying him.<\/span> With all their plotting and treachery rather than live in peace and calm with Mohammad, Rayhana must have been happy to be rid of her treacherous \u201cfather, brothers and uncles.\u201d).<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 (If Rayhana did reject marriage because of the death of her menfolk), Rayhana\u2019s animosity should not have been directed at the Prophet Mohammad: she should have blamed her people for being treacherous and militating against Mohammad.\u00a0<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0 According to the Bible captives of war were subjected to the dictates of the Torah. Which relegates the women, and even little virgin girls, to be mates of their male captors (and as Christians say Jesus is God this is what Jesus allowed):<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd if it will make no peace with thee, but will make war against thee, then thou shalt besiege it: And when the Lord thy God hath delivered it into thine hands, thou shalt smite every male thereof with the edge of the sword<\/strong>: But the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, even all the spoil thereof, shalt thou take unto thyself<\/strong>\u201d\u2013(Deut. 20:12-14).<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cNow therefore kill every MALE among the LITTLE ONES (of the captives), and kill EVERY WOMAN who hath known man by lying with him, but ALL THE WOMEN CHILDREN, that have not known a man by lying with him (virgin girls) KEEP ALIVE FOR YOURSELVES\u2026and of WOMEN that had not known man by lying with him (virgin girls), were 32,000. And the half, which was the portion of them that WENT TO WAR (the soldiers), was \u202616,000 persons (virgin girls). And of the congregation\u2019s half portion of these 16,000 virgin girls, 320 were given to the Levite priests, as \u201cthe LORD commanded Moses\u201d\u2013(Numbers 31:1-53).<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 These \u201cmates,\u201d Divinely decreed to be so, are not concubines. They are \u201cspoils\u201d of war. In taking Rayhana as a \u201cmate\u201d of war Mohammad was only following the injunctions of God. <\/span><\/p>\n

(A concubine is a woman who is taken for sex: to be a mistress. Mohammad did not \u201ctake\u201d Rayhana and she was no mistress: she was a war \u201cmate\u201d. If you find this an issue take it up with God and as Christian\u2019s say Jesus is God take it up with Jesus). <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 If Rayhana was true to her religion, Judaism<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span>, as one source on the Internet <\/i>projects, Rayhana must have welcomed her position as a war \u201cmate\u201d as decreed by her Scripture and whole-heartedly submitted herself to Mohammad.<\/span><\/p>\n

If Rayhana did truly reject Islam and marriage then, whereas Mohammad sought to elevate her to the dignified status of wifehood she chose to reduce herself to be a \u201cJeWaMa\u201d (short for Jewish war mate). Accordingly, she was no \u201cconcubine\u201d and she was not \u201craped.\u201d
\nThat Rayhana rejected Islam and the Prophet\u2019s offer of marriage was her tragic loss. Had she accepted she would have been a \u201cqueen\u201d of the Prophet, and like her sisters, Juwairiyyah<\/a><\/span> and<\/span> Safiyyah<\/span><\/a>,<\/span>\u00a0an esteemed \u201cMother of the Believers\u201d honored now by some one and a half billion Muslims \u2013and counting, as Islam spirits on, inexorably, invincibly, and impregnably to its destination as Divinely decreed to prevail over all religions\u2013<\/span> and a companion of the Prophet in Paradise.1<\/span><\/sup> <\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding Ali Sina\u2019s claim that Mohammad was a \u201cmurderer of her (Rayhana\u2019s) father, brothers and uncles.\u201d
\n<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0For their treachery, the Nadir tribe was given time to pack up and leave Madinah. Instead, they fortified their compound and fought. Rayhana\u2019s “father, brothers and uncles\u201d must have gotten killed in this fighting. After the Nadir surrendered, they were banished fromMadinah\u2013(Qur\u2019an 59:2, M. Ali. comm; M.H. Haykal, The Life of Muhammad<\/em>, pp.278-279).<\/span><\/p>\n

The Quraizah, tribe of Rayhana\u2019s husband. <\/span>These Jews were not \u201cmurdered,\u201d they were executed for treachery; and executed under the dictates of the Torah. Mohammad did not pass this judgment. This judgment was rendered by the person chosen by the Jews to arbitrate on their behalf. Whatever misfortune the Quraizah\u2019s suffered were due to their own orchestration. Which fate was of their own choosing seeing that they demanded \u201cthat they should submit to the sentence of punishment pronounced by Sa\u2019d ibn Mu\u2019adh.\u201d The men were \u201cput to death\u201d and the women and children ransomed \u201cin accordance with the Jewish law\u201d as noted above\u2013(Qur\u2019an 33:26. M. Ali. comm; Deut. 20:12-14).<\/span><\/p>\n

Mohammad faced death not only from the idolaters on the outside, but also from the Jews in the inside. \u201cThe Jews,\u201d as Muhammad Husayn Haykal noted, \u201csent some of their rabbis to feign conversion to Islam in order to enter Muslim ranks and councils. While showing all piety, these rabbis were commissioned to disseminate doubt and suspicion of Muhammad among his own people.\u2026A number of hypocrites from al Aws and al Khazraj tribes joined Islam for the same purpose.\u201d And \u201cupon Muhammad\u2019s arrival at Madinah\u201d the Jews, \u201cafter befriending him and pledging to honor his freedom to practice and preach the new religion, they had begun to oppose and plot against him. In fact, no sooner had Muhammad settled down and the prospects of Islam had begun to improve, than the Jews, for their part, began their undeclared war against him. Their opposition and hostility were never open.<\/span>\u201d2<\/span><\/sup>\u00a0\u00a0 (This is perhaps true today also).<\/span><\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0 Muhammad Ali noted that upon his settling into Madinah the Prophet Muhammad made a \u201ctreaty of mutual obligation\u201d with the Jews in which \u201cthe Muslims and the Jews were bound not only not to turn their hands against each other but also to defend one another against a common enemy;\u201d and \u201cwhen the enemy laid siege to Madinah, they were bound to repel the attack.\u201d But, \u201cInstead of this they sided with the investing army.\u201d The Quraizah\u2019s \u201cwere in alliance with the Prophet, but when the Quraish attacked Medinah, which, under the treaty, they were bound to repel, they secretly sided with the invading army<\/span>.\u201d 3<\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0 If Mohammad was pleased with this decision by Sa\u2019d Ibn Mu\u2019adh to execute the Jews, Mohammad was justified because as believers in the Torah they were judged and sentenced according to the Torah. Thus, Mohammad being pleased was not because the Bani Quraizah was executed but because the Quraizah had been judged and sentenced according to the law of God.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0NOTES<\/span>
\n1.<\/span> That Rayhana also would be in Paradise as she followed the Torah. Islam recognizes that all Divinely inspired religions have truth; and that there are righteous followers of those prophets\/messengers. However, as no religion can be shown to be equal with or superior to Islam, we have to answer to All\u0101h for our rejection of Islam. As Islam is superior to all religions, whoever rejects Islam\/Mohammad is going to Hell\u2013(cf. <\/i>Qur\u2019an 3:82, 84; 9:84, 113. Muslim, Vol. 1, #284).<\/span>
\nJews were Divinely decreed to follow Islam\/Mohammad. Moses informed his people that God said: <\/span>\u201cI will raise them (the Israelites) up a Prophet from among their brethren (the Ishmaelites), like unto thee (Moses), and I will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him<\/i>\u201d<\/strong>\u2013(Deuteronomy 18:(15) 18-19).<\/span>
\nThis prophet like Moses is the Prophet Mohammad \u2013which the Jewish fathers knew (Qur\u2019an 2:146; 26:197)\u2013 <\/span><\/span>and the words God put into his (Mohammad\u2019s) mouth is the Qur\u2019an. See Jesus-like Moses<\/a><\/span>).

\nDepending on how much Rayhana knew and practiced of her religion her place in the Hereafter is dependent on the judgment of Allah. <\/span><\/p>\n
