\nIn their devotion Hindus chant\/utter the word Om\/Aum (which Hindus consider to refer to God).<\/span> But Om\/Aum is NOT mentioned in the Rg Veda.
\nRegarding the Gayatri mantra of the RgVeda which reads:<\/p>\n

\u201cTat Savitur Varenyam Bhargo<\/span>
\nDevasya Dhi Mahi<\/span>
\nDhiyo Yo Nah Prachodyat\u201d<\/span>
\n(\u201cThat Sun, bright and pure,
\n<\/em>\u00a0the god\u2019s great wisdom
\n\u2013may he sharpen and refine our intellect\u201d)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Abdul Haque Vidyarthi points out in his book Muhammad in World Scriptures<\/em> that to give meaning to this\u00a0Gayatri mantra<\/em>, \u201cthe pandits prefix these four words which DOES NOT EXIST<\/span> in the Veda\u00a0Om\u00a0bhur bhava svaha<\/em>. The word\u00a0Om,\u00a0<\/em>it may be noted, is NOT FOUND ANYWHERE<\/span> in the Rig Veda. These four words they interpolate and insert before the Gayatri mantra<\/em>\u00a0for the reason that it may yield some significance at least.\u201d (Emphasis added, .For more on this see Mohammad-and Moulood<\/a><\/span>).<\/p>\n

Another source points out: \u201cOm is not mentioned in the ancient Rig-Veda. \nClearly, Om\/Aum is meaningless.
