\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 MOHAMMAD \u2013 CROSS-DRESSER
\n<\/span>One Christian critic claims that Prophet Mohammad was a cross-dresser. As proof he notes a hadith that “the people would present their gifts (to the prophet) when he was at Aisha\u2019s house. The companions of Um Salamah said, \u201cO Um Salamah! By Allah the people wait to give their gifts till it is Aisha\u2019s day and we desire the good things just as Aisha does. So ask the prophet to command the people to give him his gifts in whatever house of his wives he may be in.\u201d Um Salamah mentioned this to the prophet but would not respond to her. She repeated it a second time but he still would not respond to her, but on the third time he said, \u201cO Um Salama! Do not hurt me with Aisha; for by Allah, the inspiration did not descent on me while I was in the coverings (lihaf) of any of you (women) except Aisha.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n

RESPONSE:
\n<\/span>Arguably! So what IF Mohammad was a \u201ccross-dresser?\u201d Are there no men in Twentieth Century that are \u201ccross-dressers?\u201d Have you excoriated them?
\nAnd what about the tens and even hundreds of millions of women that are \u201ccross-dressers\u201d (wearing pants and shirts that are traditionally a man\u2019s garment),<\/span> do you denigrate them also?
\nAnd many of these women \u201ccross-dressers\u201d are Christians; and the Bible says about them (as well as men):
\n\u201cThe woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the\u00a0Lord\u00a0thy God\u201d\u2013(Deuteronomy 22:5).
\n<\/span>Have you denigrated your Christian sisters (and brothers) for their cross-dressing?<\/p>\n

Even if Mohammad was a cross-dresser this would NOT change the fact that Christianity- (is) a make-believe religion.
\n<\/a><\/span>In fact, whereas Islam is superior to all other religions<\/a> <\/span>Judaism, Sikhism and Hinduism also are superior to Christianity.<\/p>\n

However:<\/span>
\n<\/span>How is it that this Christian critic reads \u201ccross-dressing\u201d in the above-mentioned hadith?
\n\u201cLihaf\u201d means \u201ccover\u201d or \u201ccoverlet,\u201d much like a blanket or bedsheet. Perhaps even\u00a0a shawl.<\/p>\n

The Prophet condemned cross dressing\u2013(Abu Dawud Vol. 3, #4086-4088).\u00a0If the Prophet was \u201ccross-dressing\u201d it is strange that no one called his attention to this \u201ccross-dressing\u201d and his condemnation of \u201ccross-dressing\u201d (which would be hypocrisy on the Prophet\u2019s part for condemning it and yet indulging in it);<\/span> and the Prophet received Divine revelation until shortly before his death.
\nThus, with all the Revelations the Prophet received over his twenty-three years ministry,\u00a0according to this Christian critic of Islam the Prophet must have been \u201ccross-dressing\u201d a good part of these twenty-three years. And perhaps in public.<\/p>\n

Moreover, if Mohammad was a \u201ccross-dresser\u201d (or if cross-dressing was something that was shunned in Seventh Century Arab society)<\/span> consider the impact it would have had on his highly respected followers such as Abu Bakr, \u2018Umar and \u2018Uthman.
\nNot to mention the ammunition that Mohammad would be handing to his inveterate enemies who were ever ready to throw anything against him to cause his defeat.<\/p>\n

That Mohammad was wearing \u2018Aisha\u2019s dress, this critic will have to prove that Mohammad and \u2018Aisha were the same physical size.<\/strong><\/span>
\nMohammad may very well have been using \u2018Aisha\u2019s blanket or bedsheet and perhaps even her shawl as a \u201clihaf\u201d\u2013coverlet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
