\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 WHO TAKES UP SWORD WILL PERISH<\/span>
\nChristians make much fanfare about Jesus’ saying “for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword”<\/span> to plume Jesus as preacher of non-violence-(Matthew 26:52).
\nBut Jesus was no pacifist.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

There is nothing docile or pacifistic about the leader who tells his followers to sell their coats and buy swords and to slay his enemies who did not want him to rule over them (it is more like tyranny)<\/span>-(Luke 22:36; Luke 19:27). (Please note, this is the Christian’s Jesus, For the Muslim Jesus read the Qur’an).<\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus was a realist as is evident in the garden of Gethsemane when the soldiers came to arrest him; telling his disciples to put away their swords (though he<\/em>\u00a0was the one that instructed them to sell even their coats and buy swords to stand guard and protect him as he prayed). <\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus saying\u00a0“they that take the sword shall perish with the sword”\u00a0<\/span>was no philosophy, it was fact-of-the-moment; his disciples \u201ctwo\u201d novice swords against a band of military-skilled soldiers were instant death. What Jesus was saying is: <\/span>if you take up the sword we being out-sworded they will shred us.<\/em><\/span> Jesus was being practical. <\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus booted the money-changers and bird-sellers from the temple; ordered his enemies be slain; declared that he came not to send peace on earth but a sword; ordered\u00a0that his followers sell their coats and buy swords; these are not the exhortations of a pacifist preacher.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Jesus also caused the death of innocent \u201cswine\u201d\u2013(Matthew 8:28-32).<\/p>\n

Further, since\u00a0<\/span>Christians say that Jesus is God, Jesus was instrumental in the bloodiest episodes in Scriptural history: Jesus was complicit in all the wars and killings -from Moses, Joshua, Saul, Gideon, David, to Solomon\u2013<\/span> where not even the \u201cox, and sheep, and ass\u201d were spared the \u201cedge of the sword\u201d\u2013(Deuteronomy 7:1-2; Joshua 10:40, 12:6).
\nAfter all the Christians\u2019 God\/Jesus \u201cis a man of war\u201d: \u201cThe Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name\u201d\u2013(Exodus 15:3).\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
